Welcome to ATRC Hawaii, a free service for Hawaii residents with disabilities, their families, service providers, schools and agencies. ATRC Hawaii is a one-stop resource where individuals can browse assistive technology items that are available for loan or demonstration from the Assistive Technology Resource Centers of Hawaii (ATRC).
Before creating an account, you must select the checkbox to acknowledge that you have read and accept this agreement.
1. Registration Obligations
By completing the registration, you acknowledge that you are at least 18 years of age. You agree that you will provide true, accurate, current and complete information about yourself as prompted by the site.
NOTE: ATRC does not share personal information we collect with any other organizations except of our member tryout centers and then only with your pre-approval given at the time you register as a site user. We do not sell email addresses or any other data we collect.
2. Limitation of Liability
You understand that it is very important that you involve the appropriate professional when choosing assistive devices. For example, an occupational therapist or physical therapist should be involved when choosing mobility aids such as standers or wheelchairs.
You understand and agree that ATRC Hawaii and ATRC are not responsible for any liability or damages for any accident or injury resulting from the use of loaned, free, or purchased equipment.
3. Device Loan Agreement
You understand that the procured equipment on loan is for use only by the individual specified in the loan agreement, unless otherwise noted.
You understand that loaned equipment is to be returned to ATRC on or before the Due Date. If equipment is not returned by the due date, you may be charged a $25.00 per day late fee unless prior written arrangements are made with ATRC. You understand that you are responsible for any repairs or replacement costs incurred due to abuse, negligence, loss or theft of this equipment during the lending period.
The AT Exchange does not warrant the condition or terms of sale of any device listed on the website. The AT Exchange shall not be liable for any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, expenses (including but not limited to settlements, judgments, court costs and reasonable attorney's fees), fines and penalties arising out of any actual or alleged injury, loss, or damage of any nature whatsoever in connection with the sale or use of any device purchased, sold, loaned, traded or reutilized under the AT Exchange.
It is the responsibility of the registered, authorized user who lists a device to provide accurate and detailed information about the device's specifications and condition to any potential buyer or acquirer.
The AT Exchange reserves the right to edit or refuse registrations and listings based on the information submitted by a user. No personally identifiable information appears in the listings unless the user includes it. If your listing is published in other media or formats (such as newsletters, handouts, websites, etc.), only your choice of identification and an Item ID number will be used.
In the event you experience a problem with any transaction arising from the AT Exchange, you agree to hold harmless the State of Hawaii, ATRC, partners and their grantees, successors and assignees.
You understand that ATRC Hawaii reserves the right to edit, delete or refuse listings based on the item description.
